 Your body is a dynamic organism comprised of tensile structures—fascia–that uniquely act and react to keep your body in balance and sustain life.

Cupping acts directly on connective tissue, ameliorating adhesions, tension, and pain. Glass cups are placed, with suction, into regions of the body to draw in fresh oxygenated blood and energy (Qi). Qi and blood are invigorated at the site while the tissue detoxifies. Cupping may also shorten the duration of a cold or flu, support immunity, quell inflammation, reduce stress, improve the appearance of the skin, and clear out cellular debris.

Cupping is a great modality for pregnant women and gentle enough for children. Please let the clinic know if you are pregnant or would like to book a session for a minor.

Therapy

A myofascial release is the natural effect as the connective tissue is lengthened and adhesions within the fascia are smoothed out. Most people who start receiving cupping do not want to stop because the positive bodily effects run far and wide..

Because the natural effect of cupping can cause detoxify the body, sensitive patients should understand some potential side effects. Occasional nausea, fatigue, and light headedness may result from acupuncture and cupping. If you’ve never had cupping and are not sure how you’ll respond, please plan ahead and schedule your treatment during a time of day where you can relax, hydrate, and let your body process the treatment afterwards. Showering, light exercise, and returning to work are not ill-advised but be aware that you may want to rest and not do too much of anything after your session.

Please come prepared for cupping having eaten but not stuffed. Abstain from wearing any perfume or fragrances to the clinic. No special clothing is required though we do suggest you wear undergarments.
